Two Arrested for Weapons Violations

     At approximately 10pm, Thursday, 09/22/2005 Winterville police were dispatched to the area of Railroad and Tyson Streets regarding suspicious activity.
     Sgt. Tommy Lymon assisted by two nearby Pitt County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the area. Officers observed two black males flee on foot after dropping a bag and after a brief pursuit both individuals were detained.
     Further investigation revealed that Joshua Blount, 21, of Winterville had been in possession of approximately $100 worth of marijuana and a "sawed-off" 12-gauge shotgun. Ison Lindsey, 24, also of Winterville had been in possession of a .45 caliber handgun.
     Blount was charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction and drug possession and jailed under $26,000 bond. Lindsey was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and jailed under a $2,500 bond.
