Winterville Police Host Block Party
    The Winterville Police Department Community Police Association will be hosting its August Community Watch “Block Party” at 6 p.m., Thursday, 8/17/06, at the intersection of Canal St. and  Evergreen Dr. for all neighborhood residents. 
      Free balloons, drinks and “loaded” hotdogs will be provided until 6:30 p.m.  Children must be accompanied by parents.  Afterwards, a brief community watch presentation will be provided and Chief Billy Wilkes will take citizens’ questions and address neighborhood concerns. 
       Information regarding improving home security will be available and a demonstration about appropriate locking devices for the interior and exterior of homes.  Citizens can sign up for a free home safety/security inspection.  Free gun locks and child ID kits will also be provided.
